About The Role

The Project Manager, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) is responsible for the management of WHS projects and initiatives. The role builds and maintains strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of projects and initiatives consistent with the Department’s overarching Work Health and Safety management system. The role will work in partnership and collaboration with diverse teams, including the broader WHS team to deliver WHS project plans.

The Senior Project Manager, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) is responsible for leading and managing the planning and delivery of WHS projects and initiatives to ensure health, safety and wellness outcomes consistent with the Department’s overarching Work Health and Safety management system. The role manages project stakeholder engagement, planning, preparation and execution of any business change and communication strategies associated with the delivery of such projects. The role will work in partnership and collaboration with diverse teams, including the broader WHS team to implement WHS project plans.

About You

Project Manager operates in a Personal Leadership context. This means that you are required to demonstrate personal accountability for delivering excellence and support your team and agency in delivering strategic goals. You will be expected to build and nurture relationships and be willing to seek feedback and learn.

Senior Project Manager operates in the context of Leading Others. You will be required to motivate and enable others to deliver high quality work. You will balance time between doing the work and coaching, guiding and developing others. This requires a significant shift from doing to supporting others to do good work by providing clear direction and feedback.

Currently there is one (1) Project Manager, WHS full-time, fixed-term appointment and two (2) Senior Project Manager, WHS full-time, fixed-term appointments for twenty four (24) months available for filling, with the possibility of further extension(s) and/or permanency. Whilst this selection process will initially be used to appoint to this advertised vacancy, it may also be used to appoint to similar positions that may arise in the Agency within the next eighteen (18) months on a full-time, part-time, permanent or fixed-term basis with the possibility of further extension(s) and/or permanency.
